Ardbeg Alligator 750ml 2012

This single malt whisky got its name from the charring process.

The casks were charred at grade 4, which is the highest grade, meaning they were charred inside for four minutes. After this procedure, the resulting charred inner wall of the casks looks like an alligator skin.

Nose: strong peat smoke combined with ginger and white chocolate
Taste: warm and spicy with peat smoke, leather and a hint of chocolate
Finish: long and enduring with coffee and ginger
